The Student Manager of the university outlined the achievements and programs of the student affairs at Qom University of Technology in 2019.
Mr. Abdolghafar Haghighi Moghadam, the Student Manager of Qom University of Technology, discussed the most significant achievements and flagship programs in the student affairs sector for 2019 in an interview with the university's Public Relations office. The main highlights are summarized as follows:
Consolidation of Student Dormitories:
Considering the experiences of previous years and the significant shortcomings in the rental dormitories, along with the insufficient capacity in these dormitories, the university decided to consolidate dormitories in the Mofid University dormitories to create a suitable living environment for students, while meeting the necessary standards for student accommodation. As a result, male students were accommodated in the Andisheh dormitory and female students in the Farhang dormitory. This has enabled students to benefit from a better living environment and has also facilitated the provision of services by university officials in the dormitories regarding cultural, sports, and educational matters. Furthermore, efforts were made to closely monitor and address issues as they arose with the permanent presence of university experts in these dormitories and their direct communication with students.
Industrializing the University Kitchen:
In light of the emphasis from the Student Welfare Fund and to ensure healthy meal preparation, save energy resources, and reduce costs for food supplies and human resources, Qom University of Technology has taken the lead in industrializing the cafeteria kitchen and has received a commendable ranking in the funding from the Student Welfare Fund for 2018. The university continues to prioritize this initiative and, with special attention from the university officials, aims to further industrialize the kitchen equipment.
Constructive Interaction with Students:
One of the most important programs of the Student Management is establishing communication channels with students through existing capacities like social media and student members of the welfare council. By maintaining constant communication with these individuals, we strive to be responsive to students at all hours regarding their welfare-related issues. This accountability is fundamental for all our colleagues in the student affairs sector. This approach has yielded valuable and constructive results in improving our services to students. Additionally, by convening student council meetings at the university's board level, efforts have been made to directly address welfare issues raised by council members in discussions with the esteemed board. It can be said that Qom University of Technology is among the top universities in the country in terms of close interaction between board members and students, as well as participation in multiple meetings with students nationwide.
