The President of Qom Industrial University, referring to the enemy's plan to make people indifferent to the fate of their country, stated: The Western world wants to lead people, especially the youth, towards apathy regarding the electoral atmosphere, so they do not participate in elections.
Dr. Jalal Rezaei Noor, President of Qom Industrial University, in an interview with ISNA, referring to the upcoming elections and the necessity of voting, said: According to the Supreme Leader's statement, the Parliament must be at the forefront of affairs, and in any country, the foundational principles and legal frameworks of government activities are determined by parliamentary laws. Naturally, members of Parliament must be elected by the people in order to enter the House of the Nation, thus it's essential for the public to choose their representatives carefully.
He added: In this context, people must come to the scene so that we have both a significant number and the quality of a good election, and it is within this atmosphere that the legislation of the country improves day by day. Based on this logic, it is expected that the entire academic community and all segments of society prioritize this duty and, through their participation, neutralize many of the conspiracies of enemy countries.
The President of Qom Industrial University further clarified the role that students can play in elections, stating: The Western world drives youth towards indifference and encourages them not to participate in elections, claiming it has no impact on the fate of the country. They portray to the public that representatives have been pre-selected and that the people's votes have no significance. None of these claims hold water; they only seek to cool down the electoral atmosphere in the country.
He emphasized: Student organizations, which are made up of the students themselves, can engage more effectively with students and guide them towards participation in the elections through appealing and well-structured programs. What we say might not have the same impact as these student organizations because they better understand the concerns of students; therefore, it's necessary for them to step forward and energize the elections.
Dr. Rezaei Noor, referring to the electoral advertising programs of Qom Industrial University, said: Qom Industrial University has diverse election advertising programs that have been approved by the Cultural Council and will ultimately be implemented. Invitations have been extended to representatives of Parliament, and if the exam period concludes, the organizations will become more actively engaged.
He commented on the activities that the national media can carry out for election advertisements, stating: The national media, given its vast outreach, can be very influential; for instance, by creating programs centered around debates, it can significantly encourage people to approach the polling stations. The officials of the national media have already taken substantial steps in this regard.
Dr. Rezaei Noor continued: The national media and news agencies must collaborate to create electoral enthusiasm. Of course, government officials, from the state apparatus to regional governors, have made significant efforts to kickstart the elections, and they consistently encourage us academics to establish forums for free thought and open discussions, which has led to a favorable political environment where both opponents and supporters can express themselves.
The President of Qom Industrial University stressed the necessity of having a healthy electoral environment, explaining: Some candidates may exhibit unethical behavior towards one another, which does happen in political spheres worldwide. However, considering our country's Islamic nature, the political atmosphere should be more ethical, and it is essential for candidates to interact with one another based on principles of justice and morality.
He added: Candidates should focus more on discussing their programs and articulate their ideas based on Islamic teachings, rather than merely defaming each other. Additionally, the Guardian Council assesses various aspects of elections and makes disqualifications accordingly, and even candidates who face disqualification have an opportunity for reconsideration, suggesting that the legal process is moving in the right direction.
Dr. Rezaei Noor concluded by saying: The public should elect representatives who are virtuous, exemplary, and revolutionary, meaning they should possess expertise, commitment, and revolutionary spirit, and work on addressing the people's issues in the House of the Nation.
