According to the public relations office of the university and cited by Qom News Agency: The implementation of various plans aimed at strengthening cooperation between industry and university in Qom has made this city a leader in realizing the slogan of unity between these two influential sectors.
The relationship between industry and university has always been one of the most important strategies for the advancement of societies, and this is of even greater significance in a country like Iran, which faces severe economic pressures due to the unjust sanctions imposed by its adversaries.
For this reason, it has been several years that the necessity of increased communication between industry and university has been at the forefront of attention for senior officials and politicians of the system, who propose various plans for the realization of this connection and the practical application of academic research in industrial units.
In this context, Qom, as a pioneering province with 30 universities and higher education centers and boasting scientific capacity of 70,000 students, alongside 2,300 industrial units employing over 53,000 individuals in this sector, has announced its readiness to establish extensive interaction between the university and industry.
** Implementation of Faculty Research Plans in Qom's Industry
In this regard, the president of Qom University of Technology stated: Given the existing potentials, Qom is a leader in realizing unity between industry and university. In this context, a plan for faculty members to spend research opportunities in industrial sectors of this province is being implemented.
Dr. Rezaei Nour added: According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Science, faculty members must be continuously present in an industrial sector for six months for advancement and status transformation and should create added value to make an impact. To expedite the implementation of this guideline in Qom, we are in discussions with the governorate to facilitate its executive regulations.
He stated: By implementing this guideline, university professors will be encouraged to effectively engage in industrial sectors and operationalize their knowledge, which will play a significant role in localizing industries and achieving production revitalization.
He pointed out that the implementation of this plan would strengthen the relationship between industry and university, adding that university professors could also propose new solutions to maintain and enhance production processes to alleviate the pressures of unfair sanctions.
Dr. Rezaei Nour further noted the actions taken by Qom University of Technology for extensive interaction with industries, stating: All faculty and students of this university strive to familiarize themselves with the issues and challenges facing the industrial sector of the province and the country, enabling them to offer practical solutions through scientific projects and teamwork.
He noted: In this regard, the industry partner plan was implemented for the first time in the country by the faculty and students of Qom University of Technology in a research-oriented team format, in which student groups visit industrial units in the province, conduct problem assessments, and provide appropriate solutions to overcome production obstacles in Qom.
He mentioned other activities of Qom University of Technology aimed at further applying academic research and utilizing it in the industrial sector, adding: Moreover, this university's innovation center serves as a reliable supporter of scientific projects and student inventions, providing both material and moral support so that these ideas can be transformed into industrial products and marketed.
Qom University of Technology is one of 23 technical universities across the country, with 57 faculty members and 2,000 students enrolled in 23 bachelor's and master's programs in technical and engineering fields.
