The president of Qom University of Technology stated: Thanks to the efforts of the governor of Qom, a plot of land measuring 5,000 square meters behind the Iranian dormitory has been allocated to the university for constructing student housing, especially married student housing.
According to a report from Fars News Agency in Qom, Dr. Jalal Rezai Noor, while attending Fars News Agency's office in Qom, noted that we aim to maintain close ties with media representatives at Qom University of Technology, stating: "Connecting with media representatives enables us to perform better in our role of public advocacy." He mentioned that the media possesses the necessary tools and skills to address various topics, adding that Qom University of Technology has much to say in scientific and cultural spheres within the country.
Fars: How is the relationship between Qom University of Technology and industries?
The president of Qom University of Technology highlighted that over the past four years, the university has been among the top universities in the country regarding the employment of undergraduate students. He stated that a series of impactful events have positioned Qom University of Technology among the leading universities. He noted that the university's environmental factor, being close to industrial parks, has been influential as well, emphasizing that they strive to hold targeted internship programs. Dr. Rezai Noor pointed out that industries and companies announce their needs to the university through various channels and clarified that the university dispatches industry support teams composed of one professor and four students to these industries.
Fars: What stage is the issue of university lands at Qom University of Technology?
He addressed the issue of university lands, adding that multiple follow-ups have been conducted in this regard; however, unfortunately, as there has not yet been a decisive decision from senior provincial officials, this problem remains unresolved.
Fars: Do you have plans to address the housing issues of students?
The president of Qom University of Technology mentioned that due to ownership issues related to the construction of the housing project, there have been challenges. He recalled that thanks to the efforts of the governor of Qom, a plot of land measuring 5,000 square meters behind the Iranian dormitory was allocated to the university for the construction of student housing, especially married student housing. He added that the allocation process for this dormitory was completed this year, and construction commenced immediately afterwards. Rezai Noor indicated that resolving this issue could enhance the university's achievements, stating that the most significant issue faced by students from the university has been the dormitory situation, which is currently being addressed.
Fars: To what extent does Qom University of Technology engage in cultural activities?
He noted that multiple meetings are held monthly with student organizations, stating: "We constantly strive to provide the best environment for students at Qom University of Technology." The president of Qom University of Technology mentioned that they have achieved commendable results in cultural areas, expressing that the university ranks third in per capita cultural activities and fourth in the number of programs conducted nationwide. He also pointed out that after the COVID-19 pandemic, the university atmosphere has become somewhat stagnant and articulated: "We aim to counter this stagnation and make the university more dynamic and active." Dr. Rezai Noor stressed the importance of students in generating vitality within the university and stated: "We strive to enhance this vitality by energizing political, cultural, athletic, and scientific activities."
Fars: Can you provide details about the university’s caravan?
He mentioned that the university's caravan has been established along the Arbaeen pilgrimage route, noting that the Qom university caravan was initiated before the COVID-19 pandemic at the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA). The president of Qom University of Technology emphasized that in 2021, they were able to move this caravan to Karbala, clarifying that from last year, Qom University, the Medical University, and Jamia al-Mustafa also joined this caravan’s efforts. He added that the area for the caravan's accommodations has increased from 400 square meters in the first year, to 1,000 square meters in the second year, and this year it has expanded to 1,600 square meters. Dr. Rezai Noor noted that in this caravan, accommodation and meal services are offered in three shifts and reminded that the university caravan is not only for students from Qom but also welcomes all students from across the country.
Fars: What has been the performance of Qom University of Technology in the field of knowledge-based activities?
He pointed out that the activities of Qom University of Technology are based on resistance economy principles, stating that the university's innovation and technology center is part of the Science and Technology Park of Qom Province. The president of Qom University of Technology mentioned that approximately 20 technology units are currently operating within the university's growth center and further planning has been developed for expanding this growth center. He highlighted their involvement in the Scientific Jihad initiative and noted that through this initiative, organizations and entities share their challenges with universities via designated agents, allowing students, along with professors, to address these issues. Rezai emphasized that the Supreme Leader encourages the youth towards faith and hope, remarking: "At Qom University of Technology, we strive to follow this path and instill faith and hope in our students." He stressed that today, the global community is experiencing a trend of religious aversion and stated: "At Qom University of Technology, through cultural activities, we aim to counteract this damage among our students."
