According to the Public Relations Office of the University: On the occasion of the blessed days of the Ten-Day Dawn, Dr. Rezai Nour, the President of Qom University of Technology, attended the Revolutionary Radio program. He attributed the scientific and research advancements of the country to the Islamic Revolution.
Dr. Rezai Nour briefly introduced Qom University of Technology during this radio program. He stated: Qom University of Technology was established in 2008 with two majors, Industrial Engineering and Computer Science, and currently hosts 2,000 students from various parts of the country with 60 faculty members across 8 undergraduate and 16 graduate majors.
He added: Considering the strategic position of Qom Province, being one of the main transportation corridors in the country and located among industrial provinces such as Tehran, Isfahan, and Arak, along with the existence of several industrial parks in this province, this university can contribute to the growth and flourishing of the industry in the province and the country.
Regarding the enhancement of research at Qom University of Technology, Dr. Rezai Nour mentioned the establishment of an innovation center at the university, a club for empowering startups (Beta), the registration of 4 inventions by young faculty members over the past year, the scientific and research activities of academic associations at the university, the holding of free and virtual training courses, and the increase in scientific and research publications by faculty members as activities that have significantly improved research at this university.
He continued: Given the seminaries in the holy city of Qom and the presence of foreign students, Qom University of Technology has the potential to become international, which, by admitting non-Iranian students without entrance exams, can not only meet the needs of foreign students but also generate revenue and develop infrastructure for the university.
The President of Qom University of Technology described it as a counterpart to Tehran's universities, emphasizing that in the statement of the second step of the Islamic Revolution, the Supreme Leader (may his blessings be upon him) has made significant remarks regarding the advancement of the country based on the development of science, technology, and applied research, in which Qom University of Technology has undertaken effective activities.
Opportunities for scholarly study through internships in industry, the connection of students and faculty with factories, and the implementation of an industrial partnership plan have created a favorable environment for effective collaboration between industry and academia. With the implementation of this plan, alongside achieving a 70% employment rate for students, we have also witnessed the resolution of problems and challenges within the provincial industry.
The President of Qom University of Technology spoke about localizing knowledge, stating that in the past decade, growth centers, accelerators, and knowledge-based companies have made significant progress, but industry trust in universities is still lacking. Given the sanctions, I have repeatedly announced that Qom University of Technology is ready to produce parts or software that cannot be imported into the country due to sanctions. I hope that with increased trust in universities from the industry, we will witness growth and flourishing in the country's industry.
