Concurrent with the Day of Resistance and Endurance, a seminar was held with the presence of Brigadier General Pilot Chitforoush, Dr. Akhoundi, the esteemed head of the university, faculty members, and students, organized by the Public Relations Office and the Student Basij, in the Shahid Akhoundi conference hall of Qom University of Technology.
According to the Public Relations Office of the university: Dr. Akhoundi welcomed Brigadier General Pilot Chitforoush and briefly explained the strategic conditions at the onset of the war. He characterized the Iran-Iraq War as an unbalanced transaction and added: "The invocation of the Imams, the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA), and the persistence and resilience of the noble people of Iran have been the reasons for the dignity of the Iranian nation in this unequal battle."
Later, Brigadier General Chitforoush noted that the attack by the Ba'ath regime of Iraq began 5 hours after the first strike and stated: "We also targeted a military base in Iraq, but due to the disorganization of the country's defensive and border forces, it led to the advance of the Iraqi army."
He emphasized: "Our response to the Iraqi attack was a pre-planned operation called Kaman 99, because tension between Iran and Iraq has existed for the past 200 years, which prepared the grounds for military plans such as Alborz, Zagros, and Kaman 99."
He added: "More than 10 hours had not passed since the first wave of these crushing attacks when the Kaman 99 operation was put into action, and as a result, 200 aircraft of various types, including interceptor aircraft and refueling planes, reconnaissance, photography, C-130s, fighter-bombers F-4, F-5, and F-14, along with light and heavy aircraft as supporting planes over all Iranian bases, took flight. Subsequently, after the bombing of the enemy's military and strategic centers, nearly all 140 fighter aircraft returned safely to their bases."
Brigadier General Chitforoush acknowledged: "According to analysts and experts, both domestic and foreign, this operation is considered one of the most unique and extensive group flights during contemporary wars, resulting in the destruction and elimination of a significant portion of the enemy's aerial combat capacity."
In conclusion, a plaque of appreciation and a commemorative gift were presented to Brigadier General Pilot Chitforoush in recognition of his efforts.
