According to the university's public relations, on the occasion of the forty-fourth anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, employees of Qom University of Technology visited the sacred shrine of Imam Khomeini (RA) to renew their allegiance with the Imam and the martyrs, and toured the strategic capabilities of the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) under the title "National Aerospace Park."
The exhibition, which has been established in the permanent display of the "National Aerospace Park" located in the Municipal Zone 21 of Tehran, at kilometer 12 of the Karaj Special Road, includes various fields of missile technology, air defense, drones, aerial operations, and space since its inception.
This exhibition showcases various achievements of the Aerospace Force of the IRGC from its inception until now, displayed in five distinct sections covering five activity areas: missile technology, drones, aerial operations, air defense, and space.
The entrance to this exhibition features a corridor named "Alf Dezful," showcasing scenes of the resistance of the people of Dezful against missile attacks during the eight-year Sacred Defense, designed to resemble a classroom environment and the homes of residents. After passing through this section, visitors enter the missile area of the exhibition.
The missile section of the exhibition is set up in two areas, one covered and the other open-air. In the covered section, 17 ballistic missiles are displayed, of which 15 include Scud, Shahab-2, Qadr, Naze'at, two samples of the Fateh missile, Zulfiqar, Ra'd-500, Dezful, Persian Gulf, Hormoz, Sajil, Emad, Khorramshahr, and Qiyam, all presented standing upright on stands. Additionally, two samples of Shahab-3 and parts of missile navigation systems along with a rain-type warhead are on display.
The open-air missile section features significant achievements, including 6 missiles and 3 satellite launchers. This area includes the Tondar-69 missile, which is essentially a modified version of the HQ-2 air defense missile converted into a ground-to-ground missile, along with the first Scud missile systems imported into the country.
The dual-launcher for Zulfiqar-class missiles is also located in this section, showcasing the Dezful missile and the Zulfiqar Basir missile as naval ballistic missiles with a range of 700 kilometers displayed for the first time.
One of the first-time exhibits at this exhibition is the initial missile system known as the "Kon" (container) for ballistic launch, which had previously been demonstrated during the IRGC’s Great Prophet exercises; however, this is the first time it is displayed for close inspection.
The satellite launcher section of this exhibition also features three launchers: Safir, Simorgh, and Qased.
The next section of this exhibition highlights the achievements and capabilities of the drone division of the IRGC's Aerospace Force, arranged along a designed pathway. Upon entering this section, visitors meet the first drone developed during the Sacred Defense, named Talash, followed by an introduction to the families of the Mohajer drones, Ababil drones, Karrar drones, Sahaq drones, Shahed-129 drones, and Shahed-171 drones, comprising 15 drones in total.
A fully operational drone control unit is also placed in this exhibition. Alongside each drone is a profile detailing its specifications, which is considered one of the strengths of this section of the exhibition.
Among the notable items displayed in this exhibition is the SAR air-based radar mounted on the Shahed-129 drone.
Additionally, a special area dedicated to captured and acquired drones by the IRGC's Aerospace Force features the RQ-170, MQ-4C, RQ-1, and Hermes-200 drones. A noteworthy aspect of this section is the reconstruction of the MQ-4C drone using collected pieces from the ocean floor.
The aviation section presents various helicopter and flight achievements of the IRGC's Aerospace Force, including a Sukhoi-22 fighter jet and its accompanying armaments.
The air defense section of the exhibition begins with the first missile defense system introduced into the IRGC during the Sacred Defense era.
Types of radar systems such as Motlagh al-Fajr, Kashaf, and Qadir are also showcased for visitors. Given that the Qadir radar is large in size, a scaled-down model with precise details has been constructed for this exhibition.
Additionally, the SAM-6 air defense system and its related equipment are displayed in the air defense section, followed by the Tabas and 3rd of Khordad missile defense systems as products developed by the Aerospace Force of the IRGC.
In another area of the air defense section, missiles from the Taer family, including Taer-2B, Taer-2C, and the command system of the 3rd of Khordad, are exhibited. Different types of missile seekers are also showcased in this section of the exhibition, alongside a mobile air defense control and command center.
