The first course for organizing remotely piloted aircraft (drones) in Qom province was held at Qom University of Technology.

 According to the public relations office of the university: The first course on the organization of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) was held in Qom province with the presence of Engineer Saeedi, the Secretary-General of the Civilian Drones Group in the country, thanks to Sina Boroujerdi, the representative of the Civilian Drones Working Group in Qom province, and Masoud Abolghasemi, the Secretary of the Scientific Associations of Qom University of Technology.
In this course, the Secretary of the Civilian Drones Working Group stated: Currently, there are approximately 16,000 civilian drones in Iran, and due to the increasing use of drones in civilian activities, developing a plan for the organization and regulation of these aircraft in the skies is of particular importance.
He added: Based on the census conducted, approximately 6,000 civilian drones are utilized in professional activities in Iran.
He noted: Overall statistics indicate that civilian drones in the country experience about double growth every six months.
The Secretary of the Civilian Drones Working Group reminded that these drones are used for civilian purposes, and in the organization plan for them, various groups and sub-groups of active individuals in this field and related occupations have been considered.

Engineer Saeedi continued: These groups and sub-groups include operators and actors in various fields, manufacturers, trainers and training centers, repairers, as well as importers and sellers.
The Secretary of the Civilian Drones Working Group of the country stated: Considering the extremely high sensitivity of using drones, users and applicants can only operate with proper authorization.
In response to the purpose of holding this course, he stated: In this course, individuals involved in using civilian drones will become familiar with the laws, safety principles, and factors that disrupt flight. Additionally, at the end of the course, a valid drone pilot certificate will be issued to participants approved by the Iranian Aviation and Space Industries Association.
It is worth mentioning that today, civilian drones have numerous applications in aerial photography, rescue, exploration, mapping, spraying, remote sensing, and traffic control.
