Important Announcement from the Vice Presidency of Academic and Research Affairs of Qom University of Technology

Wishing for the acceptance of prayers and worship, and thanking esteemed professors and dear students for their continued participation and collaboration in educational activities, we would like to draw the attention of all dear students and esteemed professors to the following points regarding the special status of the second semester of the academic year 98-99, following previous announcements:

1- In order to enhance the quality of virtual classes, a dedicated server has been purchased by the university, and all courses will soon be transferred to this server. It is worth mentioning that the virtual education management system, which includes various facilities for non-presential education such as creating and viewing offline content, conducting non-presential exams, and information channels, has also been installed on this server.

2- Theoretical courses will continue to be held virtually based on a 15-week teaching schedule, and after the university reopens, there will be an equivalent of one week of in-person sessions to address questions and issues.

3- All practical courses, except for physical education, will be held virtually up to 70 percent at the discretion of the faculty. The remaining sessions (along with the relevant exams) will be conducted intensively in one or two days (considering the extent of virtual delivery) after reopening. The schedule for conducting practical courses both virtually and in-person will be published by the faculties soon. Decisions regarding physical education courses will be announced later.

4- Exams will be held in-person over two weeks according to the previous schedule. The exam sessions will last a maximum of one hour and thirty minutes, starting at 8:30, 11:00, and 14:00. Given the reduction in exam session duration, professors are kindly requested to consider this point when designing the exam.

5- If authorized by the National Headquarters for Coronavirus Control to reopen the university, the times for holding all reinforcement classes and in-person practical sessions will be from June 7 to July 26. Furthermore, exams will be conducted from July 28 to July 19. Should reopening the university not be feasible on these dates, a new schedule will be announced later.

6- The university's previous resolution on the emergency removal of two theoretical courses has been extended to all courses, both theoretical and practical. In any case, it is necessary that after the removal of courses, at least 9 and 6 credits remain for undergraduate and graduate students, respectively. The deadline for emergency removal is until June 27.

7- Due to some students' difficulties attending virtual classes, educational removal due to absenteeism exceeding three-sixteenths will not be implemented by the education administration. Nevertheless, the course instructor may consider the attendance of the student in virtual and in-person classes in their evaluation.

8- Regarding other educational issues such as referral to faculty, semester removal, extension of enrollment periods, and conducting defense sessions, the facilities announced in previous notifications remain in effect. Specifically, it is possible to take 3 courses up to 9 credits as a referral to faculty.

9- Considering the difficulties related to maintaining social distancing, the summer semester will not be held. However, graduating students can take internships and projects.

10- For raising course issues and clarifying questions, certain hours have been allocated by the esteemed faculty members of the university for non-presential consultations, and the time and address for these virtual sessions are accessible on the university's website.

Wishing for success and prosperity
