This gap prompted the establishment of Qom University of Technology in Qom Province to provide skilled professionals in these industries, especially since Qom Province is located among eight industrial towns and four industrial zones, leading to an increasing demand for graduates in industrial fields.
He noted that in the 99 Monitoring Plan report, the Research and Technology office of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology announced that Qom University of Technology achieved first place in undergraduate employment among universities in the country with an 82% employment rate, stating: This achievement came under conditions where the average budget allocation per student for regional and industrial universities was 13 million, while at Qom University of Technology, it was 10 million.
Rezaei Noor continued: As part of the industry partner program, students who must complete an internship are organized into four-member teams along with a professor, and they visit companies referred to by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade to identify and analyze the industrial needs and issues of these companies based on field studies. They also provide solutions to the companies, which has made the internship period for students more targeted and increased their chances of being hired by these companies.
The President of Qom University of Technology emphasized that in recent years efforts have been made to recruit the most distinguished professors from among graduates of the best universities in the country, stating: Young professors, in addition to having good connections with industry, are also well-acquainted with the needs of the industry, which involves students in industrial projects.
He added that scientific and entrepreneurial associations have become more active to address the skills gaps of students, stating: The development of the university's innovation center is seriously pursued, and the establishment of a startup empowerment club in 2017 significantly aided the connection between ideas, innovative projects, and startups, as well as addressing business needs.
Rezaei Noor stated that Qom University of Technology is a young and new university, noting: Since 2019, over 90% of the university's activities have been conducted online, which is why we did not face many difficulties after the outbreak of COVID-19.
