Collaboration between Halabja University in Iraqi Kurdistan and Qom University of Technology

According to the public relations report of the university, the educational and research officials of Halabja University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq held preliminary discussions at Qom University of Technology to expand educational, research, and cultural activities between the two universities. During a session, Dr. Rezaei Nour, President of Qom University of Technology, provided explanations regarding the introduction of the university. He added that this university has 78 faculty members and nearly 2,000 students from across Iran and neighboring countries in 28 technical and engineering fields at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Qom University of Technology, due to its unique geographical location and the training courses it offers for students, has recently become one of the leading universities in Iran regarding student employment. Additionally, the Journal of Mathematics and Computational Sciences of Qom University of Technology is indexed in the Scopus database, and several scientific journals are currently pursuing indexing in reputable national and international databases. Dr. Rezaei Nour stated that Qom University of Technology, with its innovation center and development center housing 20 knowledge-based startups, is in the process of transforming knowledge-based ideas into products and technologies. Furthermore, Dr. Dana, the Vice President of Halabja University, expressed gratitude for the hospitality of the officials of Qom University of Technology, stating that Halabja University was established in 2011 in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and currently operates with about 3,000 students and 200 faculty members across faculties such as Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Engineering, and Law. He added that Halabja University is functioning under the Bologna educational system. This education system is implemented in a significant number of countries worldwide to standardize the quality of higher education courses. Dr. Dana mentioned that the Bologna system is aimed at integrating higher education across Europe and specific countries. The initial discussions for joint collaborations took place during this meeting, including the exchange of faculty and students, joint scientific activities, organizing scientific and research conferences, and presenting joint articles. Following this meeting, a session was held with the faculty members of Qom University of Technology to familiarize them with effective interactions. At the end, Dr. Dana and his accompanying delegation visited all the laboratories and workshops of Qom University of Technology and spoke with faculty, staff, and students.
