According to the Public Relations of Qom University of Technology, in order to strengthen scientific and research interactions between the universities of Iran and Iraq, the President of Qom University of Technology participated in the Iran-Iraq Science Week event held at Karbala University from January 18 to February 1, 2024.
This event, attended by over 60 universities from both countries, provided special opportunities to showcase the capabilities and scientific achievements of Qom University of Technology.
Dr. Rezai Noor, President of Qom University of Technology, emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific relations between the universities of Iran and Iraq at the ceremony, stating: "Our presence at this event demonstrates Qom University of Technology's strong commitment to developing scientific diplomacy and international communications. These collaborations will create new opportunities not only in scientific and research fields but also in cultural and educational areas for both parties."
He continued, "Qom University of Technology has always sought to establish scientific cooperation networks with reputable universities internationally, and this event can be a significant step towards developing these interactions, especially with the universities of Iraq."
Dr. Rezai Noor also expressed hope that the upcoming collaborative research projects and student and faculty exchange programs between Qom University of Technology and Iraqi universities would contribute to expanding the frontiers of knowledge and technology regionally and globally. He also announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Qom University of Technology and the universities of Mosul, Tikrit, Diyala, Al-Mustaqbal, Kut, Al-Muthanna, Southern Technology, and Al-Ma’arif University of Iraq.
During this three-day event, attended by over 60 Iranian and Iraqi universities, strategies for developing scientific, research, and cultural collaborations were discussed and exchanged. This event served as a unique opportunity to strengthen the scientific relations between the two countries and to introduce the scientific capacities of universities and higher education institutions.
