National Research and Technology Week is an opportunity to pay attention and focus on various aspects of research and technology in the country, enabling all stakeholders to better plan for the future while becoming informed about existing trends and conditions. The selection and recognition of distinguished individuals in the field of research and technology, along with honoring them, as well as creating opportunities for interaction among stakeholders in various ways, such as holding exhibitions, technology fairs, conferences, seminars, press interviews, and radio and television broadcasts, establishes an environment in the country that enhances the position and stature of research and technology, while providing a solid foundation for strengthening and developing research and technology, which is essential for the genuine advancement of the country and the generation of wealth, welfare, and security for the people in both social and cultural dimensions. Since 2000, to promote the culture of research, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has designated the fourth week of Azar month, in consideration of naming December 25th as Research Day by the Supreme Cultural Council, as Research Week and entrusted the responsibility of organizing this week to the research department of this ministry.
Objectives of holding Research and Technology Week:
- Promoting the culture of research and technology at the national level and enhancing the position and status of researchers and technology experts in this field.
- Encouraging scholars and technologists in the country to produce more science and technology, and the honor and wealth that result from it.
- Clarifying the existing status of research and technology, trends, and its future in the country for public opinion and officials, and gathering feedback for coordination and progress of work.
- Identifying and presenting research and technology findings.
- Creating a platform for commercializing the findings of research and developed technologies.
- Establishing constructive communication between researchers and technologists of executive agencies and buyers of achievements, or strengthening the connection between academia and industry.
- Encouraging and recognizing outstanding researchers and technologists.
- Evaluating the research and technology activities of universities and other research centers over the past year.
- Increasing sensitivity and attention of managers to research and technology activities.
In this context, Qom Industrial University will hold a special program for Research Week and honoring the selected researchers of the university on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 1 PM in the Shahid Akhundi Conference Hall.
Additionally, all interested parties, professors, and students are invited to participate in the university's Research Week programs.
