The President of Qom University of Technology stated: The advancements of Iran following the victory of the Islamic Revolution are not mere slogans, and global statistics acknowledge this progress. During the Pahlavi era, Iran was a distributor of foreign products; however, today Iran has become a producer of goods and products.
Dr. Jalal Razai Nour, while congratulating the occasion of the ten-day Fajr celebrations in an interview with reporters from Qom Payegah News Analysis, expressed: Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, during the Pahlavi government, Iran's economy was based on distribution, meaning that domestic companies and organizations were merely implementers and promoters of foreign goods and products in the country; however, after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, particularly during the imposed war, the discussion of self-sufficiency in Iran began.
The President of Qom University of Technology noted: Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the production of necessary goods and products for the country and achieving technology ourselves became a priority, and the war served as a good excuse for significant and noticeable advancements in the fields of weaponry and military and defense industries.
He added: On the one hand, sanctions have led to active developments in areas such as electrical products, automotive manufacturing, and various other industries. Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we have always been under sanctions; all these limitations and external pressures have created an environment conducive to the growth of the nation and the country.
Dr. Razai Nour emphasized: These statements are not mere slogans; they are existing realities that are reflected in statistics, and international organizations also acknowledge this. In the fields related to defense industries, knowledge-based jihad universities, genetics, nanotechnology, and all industries, including agriculture and petrochemicals, Iran has distinctive styles, knowledge, and technology.
The President of Qom University of Technology stated: These advancements have progressed to the point where today, in the global arena, Iran exports its manufactured goods and products, even to countries that were once claimed to be superpowers.
He continued: The advancements of Iran in the past 40 years encompass a vast array of details that would require hours and days of programs and meetings to fully convey; naturally, all of this should be communicated to the people in gatherings titled "Jihad for Explanation".
Dr. Razai Nour emphasized: Today, the connection between universities and industries has significantly diminished. Previously, when industries needed devices and technology, the first thought that came to their minds was to prepare their dollars to place a foreign order and purchase these products from one of those countries; however, today, one of the first solutions that comes to the minds of industry owners is to connect with universities, including technical universities, to address their technical needs.
The President of Qom University of Technology added: In most instances and cases, they receive a positive response from universities, and the required needs, technology, or components are provided by professors and experts from universities and research centers within the science and technology park.
He further mentioned: The process of turning knowledge into technology and products in the country is evident and increasing, with over 8,000 knowledge-based companies in the country, each working on one or several products that either do not have a counterpart in the country or do not have a global equivalent. All this causes currency to be spent as human and equipment costs within the country instead of being used for purchasing goods from abroad, enabling us to meet our necessary product needs with our own knowledge.
