A workshop on the principles of protecting children in the virtual space was held.

According to the Public Relations of the university: The principles of protecting children in cyberspace were discussed in a seminar with Hojjatoleslam and Muslim Muhammad Javad Rouhani Nejad, an expert in cyberspace and media, organized by the Security Administration in the Shahid Akhundi Hall at Qom University of Technology.
Hojjatoleslam and Muslim Rouhani Nejad stated regarding cyberspace: Nowadays, in addition to fostering citizenship for a society, media literacy and education are necessary and essential.
He added: If in the past families woke up to the sound of an alarm clock, today they start their day with the sound of media, and this indicates the importance of media literacy education within families.
This cyberspace and media expert pointed out that the influence of media in all layers of the family is an inevitable matter, and we must keep ourselves updated with the media, saying: Nowadays, from a child aged three to four years to an elderly person, everyone is engaged with media. Therefore, we need to educate both parents and children in media literacy in parallel with the advancement of media in families.
He emphasized that increasing awareness and enhancing media literacy has a direct impact on the health of families, stating: If parents accompany their children in cyberspace and are aware of all layers of cyberspace, they can utilize it in the best possible way.
Hojjatoleslam and Muslim Rouhani Nejad mentioned that for better upbringing of children and adolescents, the best media tools are non-digital media, such as books. Digital media like tablets and mobile phones should not be given to adolescents before the age of 16.
He introduced neighborhood games like "Basij Inhabitant", "Heavenly Girls", and "Valiant" as suitable games for Iranian children and adolescents and added: One of the advantages of these games is that they can be used as family activities. Additionally, the "Persman" educational software can significantly assist parents in educating children.
It is noteworthy that this workshop was held specifically for faculty and staff.
