Please provide a brief explanation of your work experience.
Greetings. I am Dr. Bahram Khoshnavisian. I entered university in 1979. In 1980, I was dispatched to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iranshahr as part of a student team, where I became the head of the cultural committee of the Guard in the Sarbaz County. In 1981, I was elected as the secretary of the land transfer committee for South Kerman based in Jiroft, and in 1982, I began my collaboration with the cultural committee of the Islamic Progress Jihad University in Kashan. After universities reopened during the Cultural Revolution, from 1985, I was elected as the secretary of the Islamic Association of the Faculty of Sciences at Ferdowsi University. In 1987, I began my master's degree and from 1991, I worked as a faculty member at Kashan University while also serving on the strategic committee. In 1995, I was elected as the secretary of the university's welfare committee. From 1999 to 2004, I was sent to Manchester, England, to continue my studies. From 2007 to 2009, I began my collaboration with the founder of Qom University of Technology as the deputy. From 2009 to 2014, I was responsible for the observatory at Kashan University and was also a member of the strategic committee of the National Observatory. Since 2014, I have served as the educational and research deputy of Qom University of Technology for nine months. It is worth noting that during the Sacred Defense period, I voluntarily participated in the frontlines against the enemy several times and have successfully obtained a degree of sacrifice from the esteemed Minister of Science, Research, and Technology.
Congratulations on the occasion of the Decade of Prosperity and the Government Week. What advancements has Qom University of Technology made in 2014 and 2015?
According to the planning from the foundation until the beginning of 2014, quantitative growth has been significant, increasing the number of university programs from 2 to 11 and the number of students from 400 to 2300. Since being appointed as the educational and research deputy in 2014, we have focused on quality improvement with appropriate advancements in educational and research affairs. In terms of physical structure, we have constructed the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, secured the land for the main university site, and increased funding and budget.
As the university president, how do you evaluate the performance in 2014 and 2015?
The university has made a significant and purposeful leap from 2014 until now compared to the years 2010 to 2013; however, there are also observed shortcomings compared to peer universities. Efforts are being made to address these gaps through discussions with provincial officials, representatives of Qom in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and officials of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
What expectations do you have from the government of Hope and Prudence to further advance the university?
As this university has been established to meet regional needs, we expect greater support from provincial authorities. Although we have benefitted from their support so far, we anticipate more collaborative efforts.
In your opinion, what role will the unity of voice and purpose between the government and the people play in advancing the goals of the sacred Islamic Republic of Iran?
According to the statement of the Supreme Leader, the unity of voice and purpose among the government and people is considered a duty, which all institutions and organizations must keep in mind to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our beloved homeland.
