Meeting of the President of Qom University of Technology with a Member of the Board of Directors of Shakouhieh Industrial Town

In line with a series of meetings organized by the Secretariat of Industry and Universities of the province, Dr. Rezaei Nour, President of Qom University of Technology, along with the Director of Industry Relations and the Director of Workshops and Laboratories of the university, met with Engineer Alami, a board member of the Shokouhieh Industrial Park and CEO of Vagal Company.
According to the university's public relations report, during this meeting, aimed at strengthening and developing mutual cooperation between industry and academia, Dr. Rezaei Nour, Secretary of the Secretariat of Industry and Universities of Qom, initially provided explanations regarding the university's advancements in recent years. He pointed out that despite the fact that the per capita budget of the university in previous years has been significantly lower than the average per capita budget of industrial universities in the country, with proper planning and the collective efforts of faculty, staff, and students, the university's ranking has notably improved, especially in the past year, moving from a position of 21 to 25 among the country's industrial universities, to a position of 11 to 15 based on the ranking indicators from the World Science Citation Center. He also mentioned that according to statistics provided by the Research and Technology Deputy of the Ministry of Science, Qom University of Technology succeeded in achieving the top position among universities in the country in the area of employment for bachelor's degree graduates.
Continuing with the meeting, Dr. Naghi, Director of Workshops and Laboratories at Qom University of Technology, referred to the potential capacities of faculty and graduate students in various fields in defining industry-needs-based projects in the country. He stated that there is readiness for the projects of graduate students to be defined with the support provided by industries to address the needs or problems of the country's industries. He added that given that emerging universities require significant support for development and to reach satisfactory and standard conditions in their initial years of establishment, this development cannot be achieved solely through governmental support and funding. Like many developed universities in the country and around the world, they require support from benefactors at various levels, which, unfortunately, Qom University of Technology has not benefitted significantly in this regard. It is hoped that in the future we will witness such support at the provincial level, especially from large and leading industries, and God willing, we will see an even greater impact of the university at the national level, the province, and especially its various industries.
Dr. Rasti, Director of Entrepreneurship and Industry Relations at the university, also emphasized in this meeting the importance of industrialists supporting the province's universities to equip and furnish the university's workshops and laboratories to enhance students' skill sets. He added that as a result of such support, students will certainly develop higher technical skills at the university and subsequently will be absorbed into industry more quickly and will better meet the employment needs of the industries.
Engineer Alami, a board member of Shokouhieh Industrial Park, at the end of this meeting, expressed pleasure and welcomed the continuation of meetings between the university and industry, emphasizing the necessity of materializing the outcomes of these meetings, and suggested that mutual collaborations between the university and research and development centers of industries should be formed to lead to the discovery of capabilities in production, updating, and making industries competitive. He stated that the board of directors of Shokouhieh Industrial Park is ready and willing to provide lab facilities and equipment located within industries to advance educational, research, and entrepreneurial goals of the universities and to support innovative projects and growth centers by providing spaces for student groups, research teams, and graduates.
