Dr. Zakeri: Meritocracy is the main prerequisite for combating corruption.

The Transparency and Corruption Forum was held at the venue of Shahid Akhundi Hall at Qom Industrial University, featuring Dr. Alireza Zakani, former member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Hojjatoleslam Valmuslameen Elahi Rad, Vice President of the Imam Khomeini Institute, and Mohammad Zadmohar, Secretary General of the Islamic Student Society, organized by the Islamic Student Society of Qom Industrial University.
Dr. Zakani stated at the Transparency and Corruption Forum at Qom Industrial University: The advertising expenses of members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly should be transparent, and the transparency of activities and expenses of future members of the Assembly must be disclosed before entering the Assembly.
He emphasized: Transparency in the opinions of members of the Assembly, especially in committees and specialized committees, must be public. All hidden corruptions occur during legislative processes in the Assembly's committees and subcommittees.
Dr. Zakani continued the discussion on transparency and combating corruption, stating: The votes of members in support or opposition to proposed bills should also be completely transparent and public.
He expressed: Alongside the transparency of votes and opinions of representatives, the interactions, correspondence, and meetings of all representatives must also be made transparent.
He continued: The transparency of foreign trips, receipts, income, and public communications of representatives must also be made clear, as when these matters are entirely transparent and public, the worth and value of each representative will become apparent.
Dr. Zakani asserted: The root cause of addressing corruption is the purification of the official who wants to combat it, as certainly a dirty cloth cannot clean a dirty window.
He further stated: One of the main flaws and problems of the country and judicial institutions is that they do not dare to address the infractions of high-ranking officials during their tenure.
The former member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said: Delays in judicial processes are tactics used by the judiciary for the late addressing of officials' corruption during their term of office, as well as beyond their responsibility period.
Dr. Zakani noted: In the current situation, a strong will to combat corruption has been established in the judiciary, and the Leader of the Revolution has also emphasized a strong commitment to fighting corruption.
