According to the university's public relations office: Dr. Mohammad Sadegh Mohibi, a professor of mechanical engineering at Qom University of Technology, has been introduced as the top technologist in the province for the first time in the country for constructing a flat biaxial tensile testing machine with numerical control to assess the mechanical properties and anisotropy of various sheets and shells.
This device has applications in the automotive industry, sheet metalworking, polymers, textiles, leather, and biomedical engineering, measuring and mapping anisotropic yield surfaces, understanding anisotropic plastic behavior, plotting forming limit diagrams (FLD), examining the shape dependence of various sheets on strain paths, and investigating the properties and mechanical behavior of different shells (such as fabric, leather, bio-textiles, etc.).
It is noteworthy that the production of steel sheets for achieving indigenous technology, the production of mobile core pipe strands, identifying defects, and providing solutions to eliminate the peeling of brass sheets, as well as the production of thin-walled magnesium pipes using the hot flowforming process, are other research projects.
