According to the public relations of the university: Dr. Jalal Rezaei Noor, the president of Qom University of Technology, in an interview with the Student News Agency, referred to the statements of the Supreme Leader regarding the focus of the Student Basij on scientific activities and said: So far, initial actions have been taken to implement two industrial projects in collaboration with Qom University of Technology and the Marine Growth Center of the IRGC.
Dr. Rezaei Noor announced the allocation of funding for these two projects and said: These projects are progressing with the cooperation of the Office of Industry Relations of Qom University of Technology and the Student Basij and are currently in the phase of providing initial training to students.
The president of Qom University of Technology stated that the IRGC Navy previously pursued its projects with major universities and said: We are the first university in the province to have undertaken projects at this level.
He noted that military industries are defined as one of the top technologies in the world and continued: Many inventions and technological innovations result from military industries, which researchers and academic scholars have produced for military applications.
The president of Qom University of Technology emphasized that one of the important areas of military industries' need for universities is in the localization of these industries, stating: This localization of military and defense industries becomes more necessary under the sanctions we currently face.
He stated: Typically, military industries negotiate with academics and industrial practitioners for each problem and issue based on its dimensions, and they assign their projects accordingly.
Dr. Rezaei Noor pointed out the importance of focusing on industries and small components in the localization of military industries and added: Sometimes to troubleshoot and assemble a large component in the industry, it is necessary to have access to small components and resolve the issues in the lower layers of the components to assemble the larger layers and produce the product.
He expressed: In the memorandum of cooperation with the IRGC, students initially receive training to gain a basic understanding of military industries, after which we will continue with the work.
The president of Qom University of Technology added: The lifespan of industrial and technical universities in Qom province may not be very long; however, the effort to achieve indigenous industry and develop industries is a goal that the officials and students of this province are striving for and working towards achieving.
