According to the public relations office of the university: The student commission of Qom province was held at the Qom University of Technology, hosted by Mr. Hashemi, the political, security, and social assistant to the governor, Engineer Sijani, the head of the industry, mining, and trade department, along with the heads and representatives of Qom universities.
At the outset, Dr. Rezai Nour welcomed the efforts made at Qom University of Technology to appropriately host students for the new academic year.

He stated that the establishment of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which has led to a 30% increase in educational space, the establishment of the Shahid Shahriari sports hall, the construction of the Shahid Mashkouh Al-Sadat library, and the establishment of Informatics workshop 2 were among the measures taken for the well-being of students at the beginning of the new academic year.

Additionally, initial steps have been taken to build an artificial grass field to enhance the spirit of enthusiasm and camaraderie.
He emphasized the comprehensive equipping of the dormitories, stating that through negotiations, 30% of the dormitory space has been increased, allowing us to provide university housing for all requesting students.

The president of Qom University of Technology stated regarding the number of students in this university that Qom University of Technology is active in 23 fields with two thousand students and 57 faculty members, and according to the planning made, we will accommodate 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs by 2021. He added that with the expansion of the university, plans for land at kilometer 9 have begun, and in this regard, we have established the Foundation of Benefactors of Qom University of Technology.

Dr. Rezai Nour highlighted the importance of Qom University of Technology and called on provincial and national officials for further support and assistance in allocating a construction budget line for the construction of a new faculty building of engineering and technology.
Mr. Hashemi mentioned the relationship between industry and academia, stating that the industry must reach out to universities. If we want a successful and pioneering industry, we must strengthen the relationship between industry and academia.

He added that experienced professors can assist even in matters such as cultural development, advertising, and recovery in supporting industrialists.
The political, security, and social assistant to the governor stated that the year 2016 has been named as the year of resistant economy action and practice by the supreme leader, and added that the year of resistant economy action required cooperation between industry and universities. For this purpose, planning based on resistant economy should be formed by universities, and action and practice should be taken by the industry.
He noted the presence of elite professors in universities and emphasized that the committee on industry and academia should be taken seriously. Science from the university and experience from industry will shape the growth and prosperity of the economy.

Following, Dr. Rasti, the director of industry relations at Qom University of Technology, discussed the provincial industry relations committee, stating that since its formation in 2017 and the delegation of its secretarial role to the president of Qom University of Technology, this university has implemented the industry helper plan, held sessions regarding the interactions between academia and industry, and prepared an industry relations website at a higher level than similar sites including those of Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran University, and Sharif University of Technology, and signed research agreements with the Industrial Parks Company of the province to fulfill part of its missions in this regard.

The director of industry relations at Qom University of Technology announced the preparation of an industrial booklet for the province and stated that in this booklet, all research needs in the industrial sector have been compiled, which can significantly aid in strengthening the relationship between industry and academia.
Engineer Sijani, the head of the industry, mining, and trade department of the province, considered building trust between academia and industry very important and added that to establish a two-way relationship between industry and universities, relevant meetings should be held in industrial units.


He identified some local industrial clusters in Qom province, such as sweets production, stone cutting, carpet weaving, the leather and slippers industry as very important and revenue-generating.
He added that a cultural working group to support production has been established in the province, and universities can greatly assist the industry and economy of Iran by fostering a culture of supporting Iranian goods and domestic production.
