According to the Public Relations Office of the university: Dr. Ghaffari, the Educational and Research Deputy of Qom University of Technology, announced that 91% of the graduates of this university were employed in the year 1400.
Dr. Ghaffari commented on the presentation of this statistic, stating: Based on the statistics submitted by 68 universities to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Qom University of Technology has ranked second in undergraduate employment and ninth in postgraduate employment in the country.
He noted that tracking the career paths of graduates and its continuous follow-up was something that was done sporadically in universities until the Employment Monitoring project was implemented nationwide by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. Acceptance in various fields, reviewing educational materials, providing practical training to students, and new planning and policy-making in higher education are among the outcomes of this project's assessment.
The Educational and Research Deputy of Qom University of Technology added that the university has participated in the Employment Monitoring project since the year 1397, and the average employment rate of graduates from this university in the past years has been 72%, 80%, and 82%, respectively, reaching 90.6% by the year 1400.
He explained that the employment statistics of graduates were monitored in 7 groups: self-employed, private sector employees, public sector employees, employees in knowledge-based companies, freelancers, military service participants, those pursuing education, and unemployed, specifically for graduates from October 1395 to September 1396.
Dr. Ghaffari deemed it essential to establish an informational system to raise awareness among stakeholders regarding the employment status of each academic field and emphasized: Creating this system would clarify and inform students who, by monitoring statistics and information about educational fields, can reduce the unemployment rate of university graduates through informed and correct field selections.
The Educational and Research Deputy of Qom University of Technology mentioned that this university is currently developing by conducting skill enhancement courses and innovating the Industry Assistant project for the first time in the country, which has enabled employment opportunities during study for students.
Dr. Ghaffari added that one of the goals of Qom University of Technology, as a third-generation university, is entrepreneurship and wealth creation. It is noteworthy that in this regard, Qom University of Technology, with the support of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, has established the Beta Innovation Center to support student startups and idea-holding students.
