The responsibilities of the Research Affairs Manager are as follows:
Secretary of the University Research Council and organization and formulation of the resolutions of this council
Conducting necessary studies to identify the research and scholarly needs of the university in line with the industrial, economic, social, and cultural needs of the country by gathering and calculating relevant indicators and criteria and making decisions regarding research activities
Reviewing research and scholarly proposals submitted by faculty members for quality and projected costs
Preparing, organizing, and collecting statistics and information on projects that have been completed or are underway and sending that information to the relevant authorities
Providing necessary equipment and supplies required for projects with the assistance of relevant departments
Carrying out all affairs related to the execution of research contracts and taking action regarding their implementation
Establishing communication with scientific, industrial, and economic hubs of the country to understand their research and educational projects and the specialized workforce they need
Introducing the scientific, research, and potential capabilities of the university to industries
Collecting research proposals suitable for the scientific and industrial sectors for the use of students at various educational levels
Carrying out affairs related to projects
Identifying the short-term and long-term specialized courses needed for the industrial sectors of the country
Collaborating with organizations and companies to conduct industrial-research experiments in accordance with applicable regulations
Arranging visits for officials of the industry sector to the university and vice versa, in coordination with relevant departments
Inviting researchers and scientists from various countries to participate in scientific-research conferences and seminars at the university in collaboration with relevant departments
Cooperating and coordinating research activities among faculties and different research and executive units
Conducting necessary studies regarding changes or developments in research programs to adapt to community needs
Evaluating the progress of the university's research activities and preparing an annual report
Preparing and organizing research programs in approved formats
Reviewing and recommending the budgetary needs of research units according to the set programs
Organizing scientific seminars and conferences and planning and coordinating the presentation of scientific papers by university faculty members at international and regional scientific conferences
Planning and collaborating with faculty members on the publication of translations and authored books
Planning and overseeing the university's scientific-research journals
Carrying out matters related to scholarships, study opportunities, and scientific trips and overseeing the educational affairs of faculty members in coordination with the office of the presidency, public relations, and international affairs of the university
Establishing communication with professors, experts, and specialists, and encouraging them to submit articles, translations, and scientific writings for review and publication in the university's scientific and technical journals.
Forming scientific-industrial collaboration committees with various organizations and industrial units
Carrying out affairs related to scientific and research collaborations with the country's industrial sectors
Establishing communication with industries and factories to contract on scientific and research projects to strengthen the ties between industry and society
Planning and strategizing regarding student internships
Encouraging faculty members to conduct applied research and marketing research
Planning to promote an entrepreneurial culture among faculty members and students
Organizing training workshops to promote entrepreneurship and familiarizing graduates with the concept of entrepreneurship
Providing educational and research services in the field of entrepreneurship for faculty members, students, and graduates
Supporting entrepreneurs as role models for students
Guiding students to apply their expertise practically
Familiarizing students with all existing job fields in society
Collaborating with educational group managers to encourage them to establish interdisciplinary applied courses
Organizing short-term courses and seminars to enhance practical knowledge
Carrying out correspondence and affairs related to introducing students to various departments and agencies for internships and practical training within the framework of regulations
Identifying industrial and production units and introducing them to the academic community
Creating job opportunities for university graduates
Commercializing applied research outcomes
Developing knowledge-based small and medium enterprises
Facilitating the transfer of knowledge and technology from academic centers to other community centers
Conducting investigations and necessary actions to respond to community needs at scientific and entrepreneurial centers
