Research Priorities Related to Industry
  1. Studies to understand and eliminate bottlenecks and barriers to industrial and mining development in Qom Province in light of the provincial spatial studies.
  2. Studies to identify opportunities for industrial and mining development at the sectoral level based on the provincial spatial studies.
  3. Strategic studies for providing programs and policies to enhance productivity in the industry and mining sector of Qom Province.
  4. Conducting applied research aimed at reducing energy consumption in manufacturing units in the province.
  5. Investigating the reasons and issues related to the export of knowledge-based goods in the province.
  6. Pathology and examination of barriers to establishing small and workshop industries near the villages of Qom Province.
  7. Examining the impact of value-added tax on the total cost of industrial products and their competitiveness in international markets.
  8. Studying and reviewing methods of financing outside of government funding systems within the industries of Qom Province.

  3. Extraction of rare earth elements from mining waste with the aim of commercialization.
  4. Examining and diagnosing exports in the mining sector to determine the categories of raw materials and to develop the export of mineral materials with added value.
  5. Reviewing existing mining machinery in the province's mines with an approach to equipping and modernizing the mines, feasibility of mining materials with a focus on ore dressing (concentration) of abandoned mine reserves and low-grade mine dumps.
  6. Management of waste, slag, and mining waste and effluent in tailing dams with the goal of extracting minerals or producing valuable products or optimizing consumption.
  7. Management and optimization of energy consumption with the aim of justifying its implementation in the mining sector.

  1. It is necessary to scientifically and specialized clarify, in addition to examining various solutions for advancing the handicraft carpet industry of Qom, how to manage and utilize the constructed handwoven carpet exhibition, which is one of the strategies for increasing customer attraction and sales, and provide this to the carpet community of the province.
  2. Executing the second phase of the research project on the pathology and examining the potential for developing home-based jobs in Qom Province with a commercial approach and case study of handwoven carpets.
