Internship – Frequently Asked Questions

Is the internship course mandatory for all engineering faculties?

Answer: Yes. The internship course is mandatory for engineering faculties and is offered as 0.5, 1, or 2 credits.


What are the requirements for taking the internship course?

Answer: Students must have fulfilled the minimum requirements in accordance with Table 1 of the Internship Regulations.


Can students take other courses simultaneously with the internship?

Answer: Yes. Students may take other courses along with the internship, subject to the limitations specified in the notes of the Internship Regulations.


How many theoretical or practical credits can be taken in the summer along with the internship?

Answer: In the summer term, students may take a maximum of:

  • 3 theoretical credits, or
  • 3 undergraduate project credits, or
  • 2 practical credits, or
  • 2 theoretical credits plus 1 practical credit.

Can students take the internship course during the first and second semesters?

Answer: Yes. However, taking the internship in the first or second semester is conditional upon not being on academic probation in the preceding semester.


How soon must a student report to the internship workplace after the introduction letter is issued?

Answer: The student must report to the internship workplace no later than one week after the introduction letter is issued.


What happens if the student does not report on time?

Answer: Responsibility for late referral and possible rejection by the internship workplace rests with the student.


What is the final deadline for submitting the internship completion request?

Answer:

  • Summer term: by October 6 (15 Mehr)
  • First semester: by February 4 (15 Bahman)
  • Second semester: by July 6 (15 Tir)

How should the internship start request be submitted?

Answer: The student must first register for the internship course during course selection. Then, through the student portal (Section: Request Forms → Internship Start Workflow), complete and submit the request.
