At Qom University of Technology, this vital responsibility lies with the Directorate of Technology and Industry Liaison. This office acts as a bridge, connecting the university to external organizations, industries, and mining sectors in the realms of research and technology.


Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Implementing mid-level planning to ensure the university’s rapid and accurate alignment with the country’s Comprehensive Scientific and Technological Map.

Applied Research Development: Planning for the development of applied research and technology aligned with national research priorities.

Network Expansion: Planning and striving to expand national and international communication regarding university-industry relations.

Needs Assessment: Conducting needs assessments for the country’s industries and external organizations.

Cultivating Industrial Engagement: Fostering a culture and creating a suitable framework for outsourcing industrial projects to the university.

Administrative & Legal Support: Providing organizational, legal, and contractual support for the execution of external research projects.

Student-Industry Interaction: Striving to enhance the level of interaction between students and the country’s industrial and mining centers.

Technology Acquisition: Creating a suitable platform for utilizing required technologies, particularly emerging/modern technologies.

Efficiency Optimization: Striving to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of plans and projects within the technology sector.

Financial Resource Development: Endeavoring to attract and develop the university’s financial resources through the conclusion of research contracts with external organizations.

Commercialization Support: Assisting in the quantitative, qualitative, and commercial development of technological research products.

Innovation Support: Supporting initiatives and inventions in the field of technology and establishing connections with supporting institutions and funds, such as the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF), the Iran Elites Foundation, etc.

Internship Coordination: Identifying and precisely evaluating industrial units and centers, and maintaining continuous contact with them to allocate quotas and facilities for hosting interns.

Knowledge Exchange: Creating a foundation for the exchange of scientific and technical information between the university and industrial units.

Scientific Visits: Planning and coordinating periodic scientific and research visits by faculty members, experts, and students to the country’s technical and industrial centers.

Industry Outreach: Inviting industrial officials and experts to visit and become familiar with the university, and encouraging their participation in specialized groups to further develop and deepen professional relations.

Formal Partnerships: Concluding Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for scientific, research, and technological cooperation with relevant industries and organizations.
