Machine Dynamics and Vibrations Laboratory

  • Machine Dynamics and Vibrations Laboratory
The Machine Dynamics and Vibrations Laboratory is one of the specialized laboratories in the Mechanical Engineering department and is offered as a mandatory 1-credit core course for Mechanical Engineering students. The goal of this laboratory is to understand dynamic and vibrational phenomena and their applications. The list of experiments that students will familiarize themselves with in this lab is as follows:

1- Free vibrations of damped and undamped translational systems

2- Free vibrations of damped and undamped torsional systems

3- How to calculate the moment of inertia of a rotating body

4- Vibration absorber system

5- Centrifugal force

6- Governor

7- Dynamic balancing of rotating masses

8- Simple and planetary gear systems

Laboratory Supervisors:
