Prevention of Academic Decline

The Academic Decline Prevention Unit of Qom University of Technology offers free services to students experiencing academic decline or probation, with two main objectives: prevention and specialized counseling.

This program has been in operation since February 2023 (Bahman 1402). At the beginning of each academic semester, a list of students who were placed on academic probation or experienced a grade-point decline in the previous semester is prepared and submitted to the academic counselor. The counselor contacts each student on the list individually. After an initial assessment, students who raise issues related to social work, educational matters, medical concerns, or psychiatric needs are referred to the appropriate specialists. The remaining students attend counseling sessions (at least three sessions). Follow-up for all these students continues until the end of the examination period.

All students (both referred and non-referred) will be followed up via phone calls until the end of the following semester. The center also provides services to students who proactively seek help for academic concerns on their own initiative.

Additionally, students who wish to benefit from academic counselors' guidance for personal growth and self-improvement are welcome to get in touch with this unit.
