Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) states: The university is a factory for humanity. The best individuals from the young community of the country gather in the university, and it is expected that the best manners, traditions, and ethics prevail there, allowing for the nurturing of liberated, capable, and judicious individuals. Isfahan University of Technology possesses the best students, professors, staff, mosques, and educational and sports facilities among universities in the country. All of this is a blessing from the Almighty God and the efforts of dedicated individuals, and it is indeed a great honor to live in this sacred place. The university dormitories and the university itself are considered a second home for students. In this home, harmony, sincerity, and cooperation should flourish, and most importantly, security must hold a significant place because acquiring knowledge without security is not feasible. Therefore, it is our duty to strive for such a vibrant and energetic environment.
We wish that during your time at university, you do not face any problems, yet as you know, many failures and setbacks stem from the failure to observe small details. What follows is a small portion of the knowledge you must strive to acquire in order to succeed.
The university security is here to serve as an advisor and protector of your security across various dimensions, reminding you of the following points to ensure that you navigate this journey with health and success:
Strengthening and Sustaining Peace in the Dormitory:
• 1. The dormitory is your living space, and while being attentive to your roommate selection, instill symbols of healthy living accompanied by peace within it.
• 2. If you visit a relative's home and will not return to the dormitory at night, please inform the dormitory officials in advance.
• 3. In case of any issues (such as disagreements with a roommate, maintenance problems, etc.), report it to the dormitory management.
• 4. Division of labor is a characteristic of group living; therefore, to prevent disputes and psychological pressure, have a division of tasks in the room.
• 5. Rules and regulations have been established for your comfort and the maintenance of order, so please help the officials improve matters by adhering to norms. If you bring items such as computers into the dormitory, inform the dormitory responsible and coordinate with them upon your exit to avoid any issues.
• 6. Any changes in rooms, their items, individuals, etc., must be made with the knowledge of the dormitory official or supervisor.
1. Your most important decision at the university is selecting a friend or roommate, as roommates spend most of their daily hours together. Often those who find a suitable roommate in the first semester do not separate in later semesters. Experience has shown that good friends contribute to each other's spiritual and academic growth; bad friends can lead many students to ruin and destruction, with issues such as addiction or ethical dilemmas resulting in academic decline or even expulsion from the university. So, if you have chosen your friends without too much thought, reconsider now; if you plan to choose a friend, be particularly cautious. Because ill-intentioned individuals pursue malign purposes in the guise of friendship.
2. The greatest danger facing the youth of this country today is the relentless trap of addiction to various narcotics and psychoactive substances. It is expected that you will enhance your information in these areas to avoid falling into these fatal traps and also inform others about their dire consequences as a university student. Student dormitories should be dignified environments for students, free from unethical issues, which is evident to most discerning students. However, it must be emphasized: failure to comply with university laws in the dormitory, especially exacerbating problems like the use of illegal drugs and the promotion of unethical films, will lead to serious legal consequences enacted by the disciplinary committee to preserve the health of the environment. Students who witness their friends engaging in misconduct but remain silent are not just failing to help; they are also complicit in leading their friends toward further pitfalls, exemplifying that:
"When you see that the blind man is near a pit, it is a sin to remain silent."
1. Be careful! Friendly invitations outside the university can sometimes lead to serious problems that cannot be covered here. All graduates who have spent time at university lament their time spent there. Thus, spending time with dormitory friends can appropriately facilitate your social connections, so be cautious not to inadvertently enter unwanted situations.
2. Recreational trips without permission from the university's trips office are prohibited. These trips are sometimes organized on friendly terms, and the university holds no responsibility for them. In the case of incidents or issues, the legal and disciplinary aspects are the student's responsibility, and they must answer to the university and their family, or the families of their friends. It is advised to make the utmost use of scientific, recreational, and pilgrimage trips organized by the university.
3. Certain groups deliberately target the beliefs of some students. Caution is warranted in distinguishing friends from foes. The sacred Islamic law strongly advises reflection, research, and the selection of the right path. In this regard, whenever doubts or uncertainties arise in your mind regarding doctrinal matters, consult with experts or the advisors in the knowledge center before your thoughts are influenced by misguided advice to reach a satisfactory conclusion. Additionally, regular attendance at prayers and the university mosque, which offers a unique spiritual environment, can alleviate many suffering from solitude and distance from family with the spirituality and purity it provides.
4. Given the potential for misuse of camera-equipped mobile phones and the risk of leaving behind or losing them, it is recommended not to store family photos or personal matters on your mobile device. When using the internet, remember that your writings and communications may easily be misused by others.
5. The dormitory is a social environment composed of thousands of students; if even one individual among a thousand has ill intent, you must take precautions to protect your spirit, mind, and even your belongings from malicious individuals and take preventive action before incidents occur.
The Art of Saying "No"
1. Firmly say "no" without hesitation to friendly offers or unsolicited gifts, encouragement to use tobacco and drugs, attending parties, and actions that are beneath your dignity.
2. Saying "no" may lead to losing some friends, but it will never bring about that great regret afterward.
3. Do not accept packages, valuables, or items from unfamiliar or anonymous people until they are verified.
4. When receiving phone calls from unknown individuals, first ask for their name. Never share your or your friends' names, phone numbers, or personal information with unknown individuals.
Strengthening Security in Dormitories and Universities:
Even if you are leaving the room for a short time, always lock the door and do not leave the keys in recognizable locations.
G. 1. Avoid leaving your bags and textbooks unattended in classrooms and dormitories, libraries, colleges, or the university.
H. 2. To prevent any misunderstandings, take care of your valuables and avoid bringing expensive items and excessive money into the dormitory.
I. 3. Report any suspicious visitors to the authorities.
J. 4. Refrain from entering or engaging in any illegal actions, such as violating Islamic, ethical rules, creating disturbances, causing fear and panic, fighting between individuals, or any matter that undermines the security and safety of the university environment, and report it to the authorities.
K. 5. Never assume that nothing will happen to you, so inform your roommate or friend about where you are going, with whom, and when you plan to return. This way, in case of any incident, timely action can prevent painful events.

Methods to Deal with Problems:
ii. Only God is powerful. Instead of seeking refuge in a weak human, turn to God. No one is such a trusted confidant that they would know all your secrets and problems. It is quite possible they might exploit your heartfelt confessions. Only God is the true confidant.
• Family is your most reliable friend and support. In dilemmas, always seek help from family; they await your actions and will be pleased with your success.
• The university security belongs to you. Its goal is to maintain the safety and mental well-being of students. Share your security-related issues with this management to benefit from its existing experiences in achieving this goal.
• The university security strives for the welfare and interests of the university and its students, taking action against any factors that threaten this important mission. Furthermore, dear students, be aware that university security and university administration are two independent yet cooperating entities.
• If films or pictures are taken at private programs and parties, attend in such a way that you will not feel regret in case of any incident.
• Do not forget that while you should be a multi-faceted human being, the primary priority should be your studies. Therefore, learn to manage your daily tasks so that you do not fall behind in your studies.
• Do not hesitate to consult legitimate centers for your issues; seek guidance from trustworthy individuals regarding your academic work and schedules.
• Remember, it is never too late to compensate for any delays. What matters is your commitment to rectify your mistakes.
• To protect yourself from harm and harassment and to prevent any issues, inform the officials of any disturbances or even threatening phone calls.
• Be cautious that placing specific academic, personal, and family information on internet-connected computers implies acceptance of its widespread distribution.
• What assists you in achieving your goals is not merely relying on talents but the main factor of success is perseverance and strong willpower in confronting any problems and making the right decisions, especially in the first year of your university entrance.
Be vigilant regarding suspicious phone calls and evacuations, and practice necessary precautions.
