Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Educational Facilities for Shahed and Isargar Students

Note: The following questions and answers are intended to provide a general overview of the most frequently asked questions regarding educational facilities available to Shahed and Isargar students. In all cases, the Regulations on Educational Facilities for Shahed and Isargar Students and the related directives shall prevail. Students are advised to refer to the full text of the regulations for detailed provisions, eligibility criteria, and applicable conditions.

Who is eligible for the Educational Facilities for Shahed and Isargar Students?

The following groups are eligible to benefit from these educational facilities:

  • Veterans with 25% disability rating or higher;

  • Former prisoners of war (POWs);

  • Spouses and children of martyrs, missing-in-action (MIA) personnel, former prisoners of war, and veterans with a disability rating of 25% or higher;

  • Veterans with at least a 15% disability rating and a minimum of three months of voluntary presence on the battlefront;

  • Combat veterans with at least six months of voluntary presence on the battlefront.

1. Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree (Continuous and Discontinuous)

Q: Can Shahed and Isargar students register for more summer semester credits than normally permitted?

A: Yes. Students with a cumulative GPA of 14.00 or above may register for up to 8 credits during the summer semester.

Q: What is the minimum course load for Shahed and Isargar students during a regular semester?

A: With the approval of the Selected Committee of the Shahed and Isargar Affairs Council, students may register for a minimum of 10 credits in up to two academic semesters.

Q: If I have only a few credits remaining to graduate, may I complete them during the summer semester?

A: Yes. Students who have 10 or fewer remaining credits to complete their degree may, upon approval of the Selected Committee, take those courses during the summer semester.

Q: Am I exempt from paying tuition or fees for repeating failed courses or approved course withdrawals?

A: Yes. Shahed and Isargar students are exempt from paying fees for one repetition of a failed course. They are also exempt from paying fees for course withdrawals approved by the Shahed and Isargar Affairs Council.

Q: Is the maximum period of study extended for Shahed and Isargar students?

A: Yes.

  • Associate Degree and Discontinuous Bachelor's Degree: One additional academic semester.

  • Continuous Bachelor's Degree: Two additional academic semesters.

Q: What should I do if my disability requires additional examination time?

A: If additional time is required due to disability-related conditions, the examination time may be extended, upon the approval of the Secretary of the Shahed and Isargar Affairs Council, by up to twice the standard examination time.

Q: How is an examination absence due to war-related medical treatment evaluated?

A: The Selected Committee determines whether the absence is justified. If the absence is due to medical treatment for war-related injuries, the student may sit for the examination no later than the end of the following academic semester.

Q: May I withdraw from all courses in a semester?

A: Yes. Under exceptional circumstances, and upon submission of a written request and approval by the Selected Committee before the examination period begins, all courses of the semester may be withdrawn. Such a semester will not be counted toward the maximum period of study. This provision may be used for a maximum of two semesters.

Q: How many probation semesters are permitted for Shahed and Isargar students?

A: One additional probation semester is granted beyond the standard limit specified in the University's educational regulations.

2. Master's Degree (M.Sc.)

Q: What is the minimum course load per semester for Master's students?

A: Shahed and Isargar students may register for fewer than 8 credits or reduce their registered credits to fewer than 8 credits in one academic semester only.

Q: How are failed grades treated in the Master's program?

A: Grades below 14 or failed grades in up to two courses will be removed from the student's academic record, provided that the student retakes the course(s) and earns a minimum grade of 14.

Q: Is the maximum period of study extended for Master's students?

A: Yes. Upon approval of the Shahed and Isargar Affairs Council, the maximum period of study may be extended by one additional academic semester.

Important: To benefit from these educational facilities, students are required to complete the Educational Facilities Request Form for Shahed and Isargar Students through the University Portal and upload all required supporting documents and evidence.
