Computer Engineering faculty

Software computer engineering is now accepting both graduate and undergraduate students. This major aims to teach students about various programming software, operating systems and designing different algorithms. Computer engineering which mainly deals with designing and implementing different parts of a computer is of paramount importance in this modern world. Graduates of this major would be able to tackle numerous problems. Some of their capabilities are as follow: evaluating and recognizing new hardware and software and using them; evaluating software and hardware shortage and need in different industries; undertaking feasibility studies to overcome the mentioned shortages; analyzing various big and small hardware and software systems in order to come up with a possible method of implementation; implanting, installing, testing and teaching computerized plans; Supporting and maintaining software systems including fault recognition and fault correction as well as adding new features to the system; finding computers and computerized systems' fault and tackling them; knowing, evaluating and implementing new methods of designing computers. Both software and hardware engineers would be able to undertake all the previously mentioned items. However, a software engineer would be more skillful in fields mainly dealing with software whereas a hardware engineers would overcome hardware challenges more skillfully. Computer major has resulted in the globalization of information and communication. It has been predicted that in ten years people will be as dependent on the internet as they need electricity now. Therefore, graduates of this major can work in software and hardware production companies, industrial production centers, service companies and educational centers. Considering Iran's recent progress in comparison with the world, hardworking and creative computer engineers have been greatly needed. Popularity of using computers in private and professional environments, vast use of internet, availability of virtual education and trade have created a bright future for this specific major. The only concern would be in the field of software engineering in which creative Iranian engineers must try to design and develop practical software so as for us not to remain only users.
