Cultural and Social Affairs Manager

Introduction to the Department of Cultural and Social Affairs

As Imam Khomeini (May God have mercy on his/her soul) wisely stated, "The university is a factory for human development," and "If the university is reformed, the country will be reformed." Similarly, according to the Supreme Leader, "A successful student is one who studies well, engages in moral refinement, and exercises regularly." Therefore, culture and spirituality, alongside knowledge and learning, are fundamental pillars of a university and its community.

This is clearly evident in the Quran, where the terms "purification" (tazkiyeh) and "learning" (talam) are mentioned together, emphasizing the importance of both.

Accordingly, cultural activities in universities should be designed to: firstly, elevate the cultural level of graduating students compared to when they first enrolled; and secondly, ensure that the university's cultural level is significantly higher than that of the broader society.

The Department of Cultural and Social Affairs is one of the most active departments in the university. It is responsible for planning, leading, supporting, and overseeing the effective implementation of all cultural activities at the faculty, student, and staff levels, in accordance with relevant regulations and in collaboration with other relevant institutions.

The departments of Cultural and Extracurricular Affairs, Student Creativity, Student Clubs, Student Trips, and Quranic Activities operate under this department

Priorities of the Cultural and Social Affairs Department:

  1. Strengthening the position of the cultural sector, increasing and attracting funds, developing cultural spaces, and promoting a cultural entrepreneurial approach.
  2. Establishing a planning system, ongoing monitoring, and evaluation.
  3. Designing and developing training courses and processes related to strengthening the cultural capacity of the target community in higher education.
  4. Active and effective participation of the cultural sector in virtual spaces.
  5. Emphasizing the Islamization of universities (with a focus on strengthening Islamic-revolutionary beliefs, culture, and behavior).
