Student Scientific Associations
Students from all majors and academic levels within a university department are considered members of the corresponding scientific association.
The scientific association's governing council consists of 5 main members and 2 alternates, who are elected by the association's members through direct voting and a simple majority for a one-year term.
In universities with at least 5 student scientific associations, a council of secretaries of student- scientific associations is formed with the participation of the secretaries of all student scientific associations.
Regulations for the Establishment and Operation of Student Scientific Associations and Unions
To establish a student scientific association, a minimum of 5 students from the relevant field should submit their request to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Culture. If no such association exists in the desired field, the Vice Chancellor, after consulting with the relevant academic department, will grant permission for the establishment of the association and will proceed to call for applications for the central council and hold elections.
The permit of activities
Permission for programs and activities requested by student scientific associations must be submitted through specific forms available in the university's integrated electronic system and accessible to the secretary of the relevant association. After going through the specified procedures, the necessary permit will be issued for the requested activity.
The activities of student scientific associations are limited to scientific fields, as outlined in the bylaws of student scientific associations, and any trade union, political, or other such activities by the associations are considered violations.
Qom University of Technology currently has nine active student scientific associations corresponding to specific fields and two interdisciplinary student scientific associations. The active student scientific associations at the university, in alphabetical order, are: Electrical Engineering, Polymer, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, and IEEE.
We hope that in the future, with the addition of more fields, and with the efforts of students interested in group activities, corresponding student scientific associations will be formed for those fields and will engage in scientific activities.
