Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics Laboratory

Hydraulics Laboratory

  1. Hydraulic Bench
    • Objective: To determine the flow rate.
  2. Osborne Reynolds Experiment
    • Objective: To demonstrate the classical relationships regarding the flow states of fluids.
  3. Jet Impact Experiment
    • Objective: To investigate the validity of theoretical expressions related to the forces exerted by a water jet on obstacles of various shapes.
  4. Bernoulli’s Experiment
    • Objective: To verify the Bernoulli equation.
  5. Energy Loss in a Piping System
    • Objective:
      • To determine the energy loss caused by components of a piping system (e.g., elbows, valves, sudden changes in pipe cross-section).
      • To study the relationship between energy loss and velocity.
      • To examine the variation of friction factor with Reynolds number.
      • To analyze the loss coefficient's relation to kinetic energy and the effect of the bend radius on the local energy loss.
