Education

Dr. Najafi completed his entire higher education in polymer engineering at Iran’s leading institutions. He earned his Ph.D. from the Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute (IPPI) in Tehran, the country’s principal research center for polymer science and petrochemical technology, where his doctoral work focused on polymer reaction engineering and the modeling of olefin polymerization particles.

Prior to his doctoral studies, he obtained both his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Polymer Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), one of Iran’s top-ranked technical universities. His academic record there was distinguished: he ranked 4th nationwide in the 2002 (1381) M.Sc. entrance examination and graduated 6th (GPA 17.3) among the M.Sc. students of his entering class, after ranking 5th (GPA 16.05) among the B.Sc. graduates of the 1998 (1377) entering class.

•             Ph.D. in Polymer Engineering — Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute (IPPI), Tehran, Iran.

•             M.Sc. in Polymer Engineering — Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran.

•             B.Sc. in Polymer Engineering — Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran.

Academic and Executive Experience

Dr. Najafi serves as a faculty member in the Polymer Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Qom University of Technology, where he holds the rank of Assistant Professor. His role combines teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in polymer engineering with an active research program spanning polymer reaction engineering and modeling, polymer nanocomposites and blends, biodegradable polymers, and applied rubber and plastics formulation development.

Beyond classroom teaching, he has supervised and advised numerous M.Sc. and B.Sc. theses in the following areas:

•             Polymerization engineering;

•             Nanocomposites and polymer blends;

•             Biodegradable polymers;

•             Formulation design of rubber components.

•             Modeling and simulation

This supervision record is closely aligned with his industrial project portfolio (see Completed Research and Industrial Projects), which covers silicone rubber insulation for the electrical industry, PVC plasticizer reformulation, hot-melt adhesives, and polyolefin compounding — linking academic training to practical industrial formulation problems.
